About This Event
Experience the joy, rhythm and wellbeing of Vedic Dance
What happens when movement becomes a pathway to greater joy, balance and connection with ourselves?
For our October Women Who Dance TM for Women Group Meditation gathering, we are delighted to welcome Rebecca Busch, an experienced teacher and practitioner of Vedic Dance.
This month’s gathering will be especially experiential. Following our shared practice of Transcendental Meditation®, Rebecca will introduce us to the beautiful tradition of Indian Classical Dance and guide us through a live Vedic Dance experience.
Dance, Consciousness and Wellbeing
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi spoke of the potential of dance to contribute to health and wellbeing:
“Take dance as an aspect of therapy. Dance as a system of medicine. A system of healthcare.”
— Maharishi Mahesh Yogi
Vedic Dance brings together movement, expression and consciousness. Rebecca will explore how dance can be much more than performance — it can be a joyful way to reconnect with ourselves, enliven our natural creativity and bring greater harmony to mind, body and emotions.
During Our Afternoon Together We will:
Enjoy our shared online group practice of Transcendental Meditation
Discover the tradition and deeper purpose of Vedic Dance
Explore the relationship between movement, consciousness and wellbeing
Participate in a live Vedic Dance session with Rebecca
Experience simple movements, rhythms and expression for ourselves
Enjoy an uplifting afternoon in the company of women from around Australia and New Zealand

Rebecca describes her approach:
“I’ll share personal experiences and highlight unique, therapeutic elements of Indian Classical Dance, specifically the South Indian dance form Bharata Natyam, in light of Maharishi Vedic Science and Technology — the science and technology of consciousness for the full development of life.”
